Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.

Stateside entertainer Finn, who featured in popular TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday following treatment for cancer since 2022, according to news outlets.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family said in a statement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

A Prolific TV Career

His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on several popular shows, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

The actor appeared in a couple of episodes of Friends as character Monica's partner a doctor named Roger.

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
