The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with employing the entire amount of frozen Russia's assets to support Ukraine's military campaign, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a collective announcement, the leaders of the Britain, France, and Germany asserted that this coordinated action would heighten pressure on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and urge the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They clarified that the decision would be carried out in tight collaboration with the US.

UK sanctions have frozen over £25bn of Russian funds since Moscow initiated its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, until now, funds allocated to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had exclusively been sourced from gains and dividends accrued on them.

Sir Keir told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their desire to drive progress toward employing the full value of the frozen Moscow's national funds to halt hostilities.

He added that additional restrictions in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This statement is subsequent to EU officials gathered in the Danish capital previously to discuss using immobilized Russia's funds for a €140bn loan to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, US President Donald Trump urged G7 allies to take or utilize seized Russia's funds, as reported by media sources.

The value of frozen Russia's assets in the Europe is calculated to be nearly €211bn.

Russia executed extensive bombardments across the Ukrainian territory on Friday, leading to blackouts in large parts of Kyiv, the city, and several other zones.

In a message on X following the incident, Zelensky stated that the cynical and calculated attack focused on non-military and power facilities.

"The necessity is not empty words but concrete steps - from the America, Europe, and the seven nations - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," he stated.

"Every sanction decision weakens the Russian war effort," Zelensky declared, in a additional update.

In the same period, Zelensky told the press he would urge Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement scheme, under which partner nations acquire arms from the US to donate to the Ukrainian forces.
