Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.

In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football side," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

My son advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

Fulham have got lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home form, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
