Former Physician Faces Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors report that a ex- physician now faces charges for carrying out assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
