Iran Reports Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the American officials has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a series of missiles," it added.
It said missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
