Jurgen Klopp admits coming back to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

The German coach, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that returning someday is something that could happen. Klopp, after a transformative near-decade reign that included Champions League success and ending the club's long wait in 30 years, currently occupies positions overseeing worldwide football for Red Bull and providing guidance with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

The club claimed England's top flight under Arne Slot, but many fans who adore the manager would be thrilled by the possibility of his potential comeback. In a wide-ranging interview, he told the podcast host: “I stated I refuse to lead any other side in England. Therefore should it be the Reds...yeah. It's plausible.”

“I’m 58, that means I might decide later on, it's uncertain. Is a decision required immediately? If so, I wouldn't return. Fortunately, I don’t have to do that. I'll wait and observe what lies ahead.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Pressed on what circumstances must arise to tempt his return to the touchline, he confessed he feels no immediate pull to such a return. “It's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “No longing for management; No desire to be under bad weather for two-and-a-half or three hours; I'm glad to skip interviews multiple times weekly or having 10-12 interviews weekly.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, but sitting in a restaurant with the players having a nice chat, I appreciate that. Success was frequent meaning regularly great spirits around the place. Remaining with me is Van Dijk's laughter vividly recalled for example.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly of the current boss, crediting him for the adjustments that won the league in the previous season. Liverpool have lost four in a row across various tournaments following significant transfers, but he rubbished the suggestion it could be the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward like Florian Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. Ekitike, superb talent. They have a strong well-judged squad. No need for concern about Liverpool, things will improve.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

Klopp also spoke emotionally on the loss of Diogo Jota, a 2020 acquisition while in charge, and its impact on Liverpool. Jota died tragically in a car crash together with his sibling recently.

“Can you substitute a person like him? It’s not about the player himself, his personality mattered. It's hard to picture the team environment missing him. Putting it into words is tough regarding this. A devastating blow for the entire squad too. No one within the club would cite it to justify results yet it's the reality. Entering the changing area where he was omnipresent. Coping with it individually is challenging. Unbearable.”
