The Streaming Platform is Developing a Far Cry TV Series from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent Far Cry game that audiences dived into was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it has a reputation for embracing action and madness with the same enthusiasm, all while telling captivating, ideologically themed tales. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two visionaries whose creations have represented all of those things.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game series, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' structure by featuring a new backdrop and ensemble in each season.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as showrunners on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also star in the show, but currently, we have no details on what role that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX family constantly supports me with their steady trust and assistance.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style series. Each game is a variation of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a theme,” explained Hawley. “To develop a big action show that can change from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the nature of humanity through this complex and unpredictable lens, is a long-held aspiration. I’m excited to partner with Rob and present our shared bold, ambitious sensibility to the screen.”

A schedule for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
